Project Overview
01. Intro
GPI companies repurchased The Lofts at NoHo Commons, a luxury apartment community sitting in the heart of North Hollywood. Their first move was to refresh the interior. Yvonne Colacion, the head of Colacion Studios, led the design initiative. As part of that initiative, Mouse and I were brought in to complete a series of interior murals. six spaces- Six elevator lobbies across three seperate floors.
02. Goal
To hit the mark, Mouse and I would need to accomplish three things. The first challenge was Each floor had two lobbies and the layouts were not the same. This meant Our approach had to adapt while still tying all three floors together. next, needed to give each level its own identity. Nothing overly complex, Just a consistent visual language that could change between floors. And last, integrate their logo in a way that strengthened brand presence without overpowering the work.
03. Solution
So we built a design system. Not a strict one. More like a framework to move within. Primarily, The core structure would stay the same. Bold lines. consistent angles. Wrapped corners. This would allow each composition to flow within the walls of it's lobby. shape and color would be intentional and used as a tool to indicate the floor. Lastly A logo that refuses to stay inside its own border. pushing past boundaries, the way North Hollywood tends to do.

05. Mockups
From There we started Testing Direction. During this phase, we worked closely with Yvonne and AJ (GPI). we went back and forth until we found what felt right. Repetition of Shape proved to be a solid foundation. the Intentional use of Color in unisense with Yvonnes Redesign would bring it home.

06. Work flow
With the elevators still in use, the workflow had to be intentional. We prepped and completed each floor before moving on to the next. this kept things simple. residents could still move freely through the lobby and we could stay focused without bouncing between spaces.

07. Feedback
One of the most rewarding parts of the project was working on site and being able to interact with the residents in real time. The response we got was overwhelmingly positive. People would stop, ask questions, share reactions, and offer thoughts as the murals developed.
08. Conclusion
the project was a lot of fun and a huge learning experience. It was a pleasure to work with GPI, and Yvonne at Colacion Studios. Mouserawk and myself had
