Mouserawk Brings a Powerful Solo Exhibition to Thousand Oaks

On Saturday, December 6th, The Arterie Artcade hosted Changes, a solo exhibition by Ventura County based artist Mouserawk. The show ran from 5 to 9 pm and pulled in a steady mix of people. Families came with their kids, locals showed up to support, and there were plenty of people who walked in just wanting to see what was happening in their city.

About the Artist

Mouse is known for combining abstract composition with bold, intentional line work. His pieces layer color in a way that feels both controlled and spontaneous. It’s a style that comes from his So-Cal graffiti background but has grown into something more personal and detailed. This show made that clear.

A Show About Shifts, Rebuilding, and Creative Momentum

This year pushed a lot onto his plate. He lost his mother to cancer and made the decision to pursue art full time. Both of those things changed how he works and how he moves through his practice. Changes felt like a place to put all of that out in the open. It’s about shifts. Personal, creative, and everything in the middle. Change isn’t polite. It breaks you down so you can rebuild and grow, and the work had that kind of honesty to it.

The pieces covered a wide range of materials. Canvas paintings sat next to installations made from street and freeway signs. Spray paint, acrylic latex, markers, ink. It felt like he reached for whatever tool fit the moment instead of sticking to one lane, and the work was stronger because of it.

Flowing Conversation

The vibe in the room stayed relaxed. DJ Also played mellow hip hop instrumentals that kept things moving without drowning out conversation. People actually talked to each other. You’d see someone stop and point out a detail, or families kneeling down with their kids to walk them through a piece. It felt respectful and welcoming, even with the intensity behind some of the work.

People didn’t just walk through. They slowed down to take it in

Snacks and drinks were laid out, and the crowd just kept growing. The reaction from the community was genuinely positive. You could tell Mouse put everything he had into this, and the people recognized it. They took their time with the work, asked questions, and stuck around instead of just walking in and out.

Conclusion

Changes lived up to its name. It wasn’t just an art show. It was a pivotal moment for Mouse to show where he’s been and where he’s headed moving forward.

On display until January 30th.
